As a former high school athlete, I love getting the opportunity to photograph seniors involved in sports. Trevor, a 2012 senior at Dakota High School in Macomb Michigan, is a receiver on the Cougars football team and pitcher for their baseball team. He definitely brought his “A” game for the shoot and killed every image during his senior portrait session this week!

In March I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Jacqueline Bernard of Andrew Marke Salon for a fabulous model shoot. We captured fun and stylish images in Mt. Clemens and down at the Ye Olde Tap Room in Detroit, showing off the amazing talent of Jacqueline as she cut, colored and styled every model that day. Although it was cold, raining and gloomy the models were troopers and allowed us to create killer images so check ‘em out below!

Lil’ Ava is simply too cute! When she was over a few weeks back we captured some totally adorable images in a fabulous tutu and my fav clothing line Matilday Jane. This sweet two year old was an angel infront of the camera and I had a blast spending time with her.

She Said Yes! {Detroit Engagement Photographer}

Derek has been a great friend of Steve and I since the early days of high school, so I was pumped when he started dating this amazing girl named Becky. Not many of our friends are married, let alone have kids, so whenever I see potential for a new girl to join the group I get super psyched! The minute anyone meets Becky you can tell she is a gorgeous person inside and out, full of life and energy. The two were a perfect fit, even sharing a passion for sports. In fact they have started running marathons together, completing the half marathon in Traverse City earlier this year. So when they said they were going to be running the 2009 Detroit Marathon that stretches across Detroit and Windsor I knew I wanted to head down to grab some actions shot of them and a special surprise.
Last Sunday I woke up at the crack of dawn to head downtown to catch Derek and Becky in action. My first stop was right outside of the tunnel, on the corner of the Ren Cen property and Jefferson Avenue. It was completely inspirational to see the number of men and women, both young and old of all shapes and sizes taking on this amazing feat. The runners had huge smiles on their faces to see the crowd awaiting them on the U.S. side of the tunnel, with family and friends waving and cheering them on. Thousands of athletes spilled onto Jefferson Avenue and I was so worried I wouldn’t catch Derek, Becky and their friend Jane in the mass of runners. After an hour or so I thankfully saw trio emerge and yelled down in excitement, allowing me to grab a few images as they passed by. Then I hauled over to the finish line where Derek & Becky’s family was awaiting their arrival. The group and I anxiously waited to see Derek cross the finish line, because they knew that Becky was going to get the surprise of her life. Sure enough I spotted Derek finishing the race a few lengths ahead of Becky, with one hand tightly holding onto the ring box in his pocket. He quickly got onto position, down on one knee a few feet past the finish line. Becky crossed the finish ending up right in front of Derek holding a beautiful engagement ring. He asked her to marry him…. and she said yes! The next thing we all new they were swarmed by reporters getting the scoop on this great moment, and ended up featured on the front page of the Freep Monday! Stephanie + Brian {Macomb Wedding Photographer}

Have you ever met someone and totally feel in love with their personality and the energy they give off? Well Stephanie and Brian are one of those couples that are simply amazing to be around, so we were thrilled when they choose us for their summer 2009 wedding
Although the weather forecasters were predicting rain, their June 19th wedding ended up being filled with blue skies and sunshine. With rays of sun beaming through St. Clement’s stained glass windows, friends and family filled the pews to witness the power of love. Brian eagerly waited at the alter as Stephanie walked up the aisle arm and arm with her parents. Stephanie’s one wish was that we capture Brian’s face when he sees her approaching the alter… and I think we delivered. His smile in the picture below is priceless. Stephanie and Brian wore those grins throughout the whole ceremony and so did the guests as the priest gave a great sermon.
After the ”I do’s” we headed for some fun and fabulous bridal images outside the church and at the park. I went absolutely bananas for the pics we created by the teal wall and the romantic shots underneath the oak tree. But check out the shot of Stephanie and Brian coming down the slide… their faces are great!
With a banquet room full of guests waiting for the couple we headed to Penna’s of Sterling for a rockin reception and even a surprise guest. Upon arrival I was blown away by the great decor and beautiful table settings that Bellisario Florist put together. Friends and family danced the night away, including a little air guitar action by the groom and his buddy. Plus the Detroit Tigers very own Paws stopped by to congratulate the couple on their big day!

Stephanie + Brian we wish nothing but the best as you head down the happy road of marriage. Thank you for letting us capture the special moments of your day and keeping us smiling the whole way Connie + Steve
