Megan simply rocks! She’s a senior at Rochester Adams High School, loves playing soccer and racing cars… yes racing cars. She’s knows what she wants out of life and goes for it… I love that spirit! It was a blast photographing her senior pictures all around Downtown Rochester with Megan and it was wonderful to get to know what a fabulous person she is.

What an amazing privilege it was to spend time with Jon and his family while photographing his senior graduation portraits. During the shoot his calm focused demeanor and stellar personality truly impressed me, offering a glimpse into exactly why he was able to lead Dakota High School’s Varsity Football Team as a star linebacker and captain. This fall, Steve, the kids and I were able to catch a game and watch a great performance by Jon + his guys, finishing with a win over rivals CVHS. I can’t wait to follow up on the amazing things Jon will continue to accomplish after graduation!

What an adventure I got to have photographing Amanda’s senior pictures, a future graduate from Dakota High School in Macomb Township Michigan. From rural to urban settings and even going to the location she dominates the most… the softball field… we photographed her shoot all around town! Her smile makes me smile and I just loved capturing seniors that are up for anything She was ready to have some fun and that relaxed feel made the session a blast and her images turned out fabulous! I wish her all the luck as she finishes up a fantastic senior year.

What a crazy end to 2011, with some very challenging moments testing my strength this fall, I was blessed to have wonderful new memories wrap up the year. The holidays brought exciting times as family + friends got engaged, announced expanding families and of course our lil’ Derek had his 4th birthday. As many of you, I’m ready for 2012 and thrilled to experience all it brings… and I know all my high school seniors are now counting down their days until graduation

Dakota High School DWTS {Detroit Michigan Event Photographer}

Being able to photograph local community events is such a pleasure, especially the annual Dakota High School Band “Dancing with the Stars” event. They pull local dance studios, CVS teachers, administration and staff together to put on an outstanding version of the popular TV hit. Superintendent of Chippewa Valley Schools, Ron Roberts, is the MC bringing lots of laughter to the event and dance studio owner, Mary Skiba, plays a huge roll training the Dakota Dancing Dads and helping judge the competition. Each year Metro-Detroit celebrities play a part too, this years’s line up included FS Detroit’s Mario Impemba, WDIV’s Marc Santia + Lauren Podell and the Detroit Pride Cheerleaders. This fundraising event was outstanding and lots of credit is due to Dakota’s tech crew and the event chair Christie Forbes-Green. We are excited to help the Dakota Band with additional fundraising through the purchase of event pictures, as 50% of the proceeds will be donated directly to the band program – click on the link under the slideshow to view the images.

Ryan+Lauren=Kenzie {Michigan Wedding Family Photographer}

One of my fav things to do on beautiful spring and summer evenings is photographing engagement session and family sessions… so it was super exciting to combine the two and photograph baby Kenzie and her fabulous parents Ryan + Lauren. Although Kenzie was a little hesitant, she quickly warmed up with a walk around Heritage Park in Taylor. She just turned one and is sooo sweet with that bright red hair!
We followed the mini-family session by photographing Lauren + Ryan’s esession at the park too. They are one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the honor of knowing and their smiles are contagious. I even tried having them act out some “serious” images and they were only able to pull off one, because Lauren was full on laughs and couldn’t keep a straight face!!! Too cute!!! I’m super psyched for their wedding in September at Crystal Gardens

A sweet couple who I totally connected with. We chatted about their wedding colors, their crazy family that will be dancing fools at their reception and how our “first look moment” works. It’s couples like this that remind me how much I love my job.

Mario + Annamarie {Rochester Michigan Wedding Photographer}

Anna is great. In fact she’s terrific. She even didn’t mind my crazy kids acting like mini-Jedi’s with lightsabers flying past her head as they jumped off couches while waiting for one of our meetings. Once I was able to rescue her from my monsters, we went into the consult room to chat about the details of her upcoming nuptuals, the stresses of planning and even gossiped a bit. I left my meeting with Anna elated that her wedding was around the corner and I’d be able to spend an entire day with her and Mario.
September 19th was the big day. Steve was his usual quite self as we drove to the hotel where Anna was getting ready, meanwhile I chatted his ear off about how psyched I was. We got there and were greeted by the amazing videographer Jamie Honce of Jamie Honce Productions, you may remember him from our e-session shoot earlier this summer
After greeting the bridal party we get down to business by shooting the bride’s wedding details, dress, shoes, flowers, ect. and then it’s time to get Anna into that dress.
We finished up at the hotel and then moved to the glorious National Shrine of the Little Flower Church.  At the historic venue we found a cool and collected Mario strutting about, greeting family and friends. This groom wore a huge smile on his face as his bride-to-be graced down the isle. Mario + Anna’s ceremony was beautiful with light beaming in from stained glass windows and a cross drapped above the alter. The ceremony even incorporated Mario’s Philipino heritage with family members placing a veil and cord among the couple.
After the formalities we finished and a few quick family pics it was time to hit the limo and drive to OU for fabulous images. Mario and Anna both went to college at Oakland University so what an amazing place to have their reception at. While walking the grounds we captured fun images of the bridal party while along side the very talented Jamie Honce. Although I was psyched about the images we were able to capture, I had a certain white barn taking over my mind. While driving across campus earlier that afternoon I spotted this killer location and had to get this couple in front of it. So I politely asked Mario and Anna to trust me. To get in the back of our SUV. And to drive across campus while their reception was to start in just minutes.  They looked at each other, shrugged their shoulders and said “okay”.  With a green light we rushed to the location, shots some aaaaamazing pics and then headed back to start rocking the reception out. I LOVE these two!

I am always amazed by The Lighting Guy, as they did a killer job of making this event venue look stylish and unique!

OU grads sure know how to rock a reception… look at this totally fab crowd
