Well in case you didn’t know… Belle Isle is like the coolest! I know it sometimes gets a bad wrap, but every time I visit or shoot on the island I am amazed at how wonderful it is. This fall I was thrilled to hang out on the Isle with a few of my 2010 couples for their engagement shoots.
In September, I met Angela and Nate in front of the infamous fountain on Belle Isle, a beautiful marble sculpture. From the moment I met Angela I couldn’t wait to get her super sweet smile and comforting personality in front of my lens! While shooting and chatting I learned that Nate attended WSU, thus spending many college years hanging in Downtown Detroit. With my wheels turning I knew our next set of images would be along the riverfront to grab Detroit’s skyline in the back of their pics. The entire session was a blast as I love spending time with my brides and grooms. With a little light left we headed to Union Street, their fav hangout spot, to grab a couple more images and a few beers to!
Angela + Nate: Thanks for a fab time and I’m thrilled to be apart of your June 2010 wedding in Rochester![]()

Hilarious + charming = epic e-session. Despite the fact that it was drizzling, windy and cold Katie and Jonny helped to create some killer images. I called Katie earlier in the day to ask “are you still ok meeting tonight for your engagement shoot… even though the weather is crap?”, without hesitation Katie replied that a little rain wouldn’t keep them away. So off we went. We were able to use the shelter of Belle Isle’s old casino, trek out by the aquarium and find an amazing brinck wall decked with ivy. Jonny’s fun nature kept Katie laughing throughout our evening. I can’t wait to capture that same dynamic during their wedding downtown July 2010 :) Thanks for a great night guys!
